 We have been looking for so long across the waters, at what is occurring in other countries that we have lost the ability to see what is actually going on right next door. The media has thus been successful in keeping our eyes off the issues and sufferings that are building up across our once fair and proud land. People, we have concerned ourselves about the diabolical occurrences happening in Bosnia and other areas, while turning our cheek to the injustices in our own homeland. People, wake up, there is a "fire on the mountain" - there are wars going right here in America, right in our own backyard.
Across our country, Native People have been fighting a struggle for their very existence, and preservation of their personal human liberties. The severity of what has been going on here in our own country has for the most part been kept from the news media as part of a political policy of 'official denial.' However the situation is now exploding, and the first shots have been fired. You need to know - you need to awaken! It is time now for the American People to become aware of this situation which, if allowed to continue, could very well set the stage for the most intense drama America has seen upon its shores since the Battle of the Little Big Horn. We are now in a situation that is escalating to the point that we are experiencing the beginnings of contemporary Indian wars. We will endeavor to bring you the coverage of this story, which will become a voice for the People across our fair land as it comes to us, for the truth shall set you free. If this kind of policy is allowed to continue and go unchecked, and what is occurring in Arizona is not brought under control, it will spread to all Indian Nations - and ultimately, to the rest of our America. You have not been told the truth about what is happening on the reservations, but know this, if this is allowed to happen to the Native American People, your neighborhoods are next. Black, white, yellow, blue -- no one shall escape the sting of the scorpion born of the disease called Separatism, whose basis is ignorance and no better than racism. The race wars of the sixties are going to appear calm in comparison to the genocide wars of the 21st century. War will only bring about more war, like attracts like. We must actively seek the solutions to eliminating the causes, and change the focus of surpressing the results of the sickness. Apache elders, women, children are being brutalized, maimed their possessions taken from them, and their human rights being denied. Some of you remember Wounded Knee only as an event that happened in 1973. Did you know the Native People still at that time did not have the right to their ceremonies, and spiritual beliefs? To practice these things meant imprisonment, even death. Today that same struggle for freedom continues, even though on the surface we are told that the Native People are protected under the Native American Religious Freedom Act of 1978. There is now another similar tragedy occurring in the Heart of the Great American South West, on the San Carlos Apache Reservation, in Arizona. Thousands of you recently participated in 'the Great Experiment.' We received hundreds of your E-mails asking everyone to pray for Peace. Your work is not yet completed. The light is still caught up in the ethers, it must be rendered upon the Earth through our actions and deeds. Wolf Lodge is sending out an emergency plea for help for the Apache People at the San Carlos Reservation. Robert Ghost Wolf, and all of us at Wolf Lodge have long been active to the point of personal risk, and endangerment to our physical beings, in bringing the truths of Native America to those who had the courage to seek the answers. We have never closed our doors to those who asked for help even when it was inconvenient to do so. For what is the measure of our humanity if we only give when convenient. How are we to measure the quality of our spirituality if we only give to our own select few, and shut our eyes to the beings around us? Light is light, spirit is spirit our souls are beyond the veils of illusion. Separatism, racism, and hate have been a disease, which has afflicted this land for over 500 years. The Prophet has told us that indeed these are the End Times, our truth is being tested every step along the path. We are being tested in our spiritual fabric once again being given an opportunity to stop tyranny. The fires of war are raging all over the planet, and even here in the Land of the Free, we are not an exception to the results of inhumanity inflicted upon the innocent. We are all People of this Turtle Island we must take the action now to walk our talk, and bring the light into full realization. We can stop the Fires of War, and use the strength of heart to heal the wound. Ghost Wolf asks that we send our light to the People of San Carlos to have the courage to not pick up the sword and that the rest of us hear their pleas for help and take action! As Americans we are falling asleep, we are experiencing spiritual wonderments and do not have within us the strength of character to stay awake long enough to realize them. We spend our moments building passions and concern about tragedies occurring in lands far away, while we pay so little attention to that which is in our own back yard, affecting our own families, our own children. It would seem that Americans have forgotten to take care of their own. Always there is the relentless media pressure manipulating us to place our vision away from the home fires, to direct our passion away from ourselves. As the morning sun rises today, in the American South West, the day will bring fear and perhaps even more death upon the San Carlos Reservation in Eastern Arizona. The other day while Apache Elders, were performing ceremony they were met with violent acts of madness. People were run down by police vehicles, one elder was beaten to death by police clubs. Women were knocked to the ground and trampled, and children screamed as they ran in terror. To the Elders it was a memory of other bad times and senseless madness of 100 years ago. The toll of human suffering at San Carlos is rising each day. Vehicles have been confiscated or destroyed, there are many that are no longer able go to work to earn sustenance for their families. Others have as a result, of resisting these acts of violence lost their jobs for just participating in any manner against what 'officials' are doing here in San Carlos. E-mail addresses and web sites have been shut down bearing this information in an attempt to keep what is happening at San Carlos from the rest of the world. This is an unofficial 'black out.' We urge you to copy this information and send it out via e-mail to all that you know, and post this on any web site that you have access to. Also, let us not forget, we can print out copies and post or mail them where appropriate!! The Apache People and their traditional Elders have sent out pleas for help, which have thus far gone unanswered. While most of us sit drinking our morning coffee and read in the newspapers, about how in some far off land, justice is being rendered for 22 who committed acts of genocide in Rwanda, how many of you ask "What is happening right here?" We ask you in all consciousness, why has the story of what is occurring here not being covered by the press and television media? We ask you, why has there been a Black Out of reports of the San Carlos Incident to the News Media? People of the Turtle, the prophecies tell us of social unrest and violence that will happen in the End Times, they tell us of People being herded like cattle into compounds. This is what is occurring right now at the San Carlos Reservation. If this kind of travesty is allowed to continue at San Carlos then it will be condoned on any reservation in the country, and ultimately in any city. Already we have seen the Fires of War in Upstate New York in the Land of the Iroquois. Congress is even deliberating whether or not to declare Indian Lands as open land, and allow it to be sold on the open market. Do you think yourself so removed from reservation life? Do you think you are safe? We would ask you, do you own your home? Do you own your car? Do you own the land you live upon, your farm or ranch? Do you even own the clothing upon your backs? Every American Child is born the inheritance of an $80,000 debt. So if you think about it. We are all on the Reservation now. Somebody else owns us. We are becoming a People who in reality have nothing. We are becoming a People without a place, and without a center. If this continues, perhaps we soon will no longer even be a people. The San Carlos Incident, is part of a larger war, it is a quiet and subtle war. It is a war about corrupt regimes run by 'Tribal Councils' appointed by external bureaucrats, and not being appointed by the People. In too many instances they do not represent the Traditional People. This is a condition that has been going on for so long, that we the 'public' have fooled into believing that just because these Councils are labeled Tribal, they have the best interests of the Native People at heart. This is the situation on many Reservations, and it goes unnoticed by the public eye. There are SO many corrupt and illegal governing bodies that have been placed by government bureaucracies within the structures of the Reservation System, which have been created by bureaucrats for the purpose of perpetuating their milking the government for their sustenance. It is a parasitic cycle of self-destruction, supporting the lie that Native People are Not Sovereign Nations, the lie that they are not People having their own rights under the Creators law. Wake up! This is not a story from the distant past, this is not Dances with Wolves, and this is still going on right now in your own backyard. San Carlos has just broken open, like a wound that has festered too long. Many of you have come to ceremony, to Sun Dance, to Ghost Dance, to the Medicine Wheel, to the Ruins, and to the Medicine People across this nation? When all other avenues were exhausted to you, you found healing, compassion and Spirit within the Native American People. You hang your blankets that were made in Arizona, and listen to Carlos Naki, and dream of the way of the Grandfathers. Can you hear the cries of the people? We at Wolf Lodge have been there for hundreds of you, perhaps thousands, and you have come from all corners of the Earth. It is to you who we now speak. You are called upon now to come to the assistance of a People who are screaming for help. This is a War. These People need funds, for legal fees, food clothing, and medical aid. It is time to help the Apache People at San Carlos -- every moment is another moment they remain in pain. Ghost Wolf has asks that you support a special fund established, that will be delivered to the Traditional Apache Grandmothers in San Carlos, which is to be distributed to the People by their Spiritual Elders.
