THIS IS LIVING

To anyone not familiar with areas in United States, we are located just about right in the middle of the country. To those from USA, we are located in Southeastern Iowa. Our home also serves as a Bed & Breakfast, which we call ITLDO (pronounced, "It'll do.")

We definitely have four seasons. . .

Dogwood and forsythia, violets, prairie phlox, and blue pasque flowers brighten up spring.

Corn

Corn is one of Iowa's main crops.
This is my dad standing at the edge of an August field.

Path

Wild roses, marigolds, sunflowers, prairie asters and goldenrod broadcast that Autumn is on its way.

Maple

Autumn is lovely with maple, oak, elm, hickory, walnut, cottonwood and willow trees turning vibrant colors. Sometimes leaves get raked in the fall and, at other times, they may not get raked until spring.

Our son Shawn

Old Man Winter usually begins his visit at the end of October, often with a blizzard as his grande opening. The snow scene here was in late October, after a warm autumn with the leaves still on the trees.

Winter

Living here provides a dramatic contrast, after living on the California desert for fifteen years. It took awhile for me to accept the new location - which happened after I began making new friends via internet!

(Psst! Watch for the Awakening taking place!)
